Greater Manchester Police today said that they are investigating a network in connection with the bombing.
There is such anger in Government about USA leaking of information about the Manchester bomb investigation that I understand Theresa May is expected to raise the issue directly with President Trump at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit on Thursday.
The bomb used in the attack appeared to contain carefully packed shrapnel and have a powerful, high velocity charge, according to leaked photographs from the investigation published by the New York Times.
As investigators piece together links surrounding Manchester attacker Salman Abedi, shocking details about his transition from a cannabis-smoking university dropout to the Islamic State group (ISIS) suicide bomber have emerged.
But on Thursday the leaks continued, culminating in a New York Times article which included detailed forensic pictures of the crime scene outside the Manchester Arena, including the remains of the bag that Abedi used. The leak, however, "undermines our investigations and the confidence of victims", the U.K.'s National Police Chiefs' Council said in a statement Wednesday.
Abedi's father, Ramadan Abedi, was allegedly a member of the al-Qaida-backed Libyan Islamic Fighting group in the 1990s, according to a former Libyan security official, Abdel-Basit Haroun.
A Whitehall source said: "British officials and ministers are making it clear to their United States counterparts that these leaks from within the system are completely unacceptable". The suspect, a 22-year-old British-born national of Libyan descent name Salman Abedi, lived less than four miles from the arena.
"These searches are connected to Monday's attack on the Manchester Arena, but this is a fast moving investigation and we are keeping an open mind at this stage", police said in a statement.
Salman Abedi was not the only one in his family who caused concern in Manchester.
"We have been following him for more than one month and a half", Bin Salem said.

Britain's political parties meanwhile agreed to resume campaigning on Friday after a three-day break, as authorities warned that another attack is imminent.
Soldiers were seen at the Houses of Parliament, May's Downing Street residence and at the London police headquarters at New Scotland Yard.
On Wednesday, a series of raids were executed across Manchester, Wigan and Nuneaton, Warwickshire, while relatives of bomber Salman Abedi were detained in Libya.
Ariana Grande's representative said on Wednesday she was suspending her tour to assess the situation and to "pay our proper respects to those lost".
The Deterrence Force said on its Facebook page that "investigation teams supplied intelligence that he was planning a terrorist attack in the capital Tripoli".
The government said a minute's silence would be held at all official buildings at 1000 GMT on Thursday.
Monday's bombing, which killed 22 people and wounded 64, also resulted in the cancellation of next week's London premiere of the superhero film "Wonder Woman" and increased security for a music festival this weekend featuring pop star Katy Perry in the northern English city of Hull.
