George Clooney's dad: 'He certainly married up!'

George and Amal announced they had welcomed a healthy baby boy and baby girl in a statement released by his publicist on Tuesday.

It's clear Nick is over the moon about George, Amal and the birth of their twins; "she was just great" he said of Amal, "the babies are attractive".

Clooney talked with "Good Morning Britain" on Thursday and revealed how well the new parents are doing: "George will be an absolute wonderful father".

As for his son, the 83-year-old former anchorman joked, "George, well, his eyes were glazed so I'm not sure that he was sober".

"Amal, who is Super Woman, she is just unbelievable", Nick shared in a FOX19 NOW phone interview. George certainly married up!' Clooney obviously has a sense of humor.

The grandfather continued: "These are two handsome babies".

"And it seems Amal is just like most pregnant women as on Wednesday, Clooney Snr told Fox 19 Now: "[Amal] was telling us last week that she is as big as a house.

Instead, the new grandparents "met" the latest additions to the Clooney clan over the Internet, and journalist Nick reveals their grandson has inherited George's good looks. "Nina swears they have George's nose".

George Clooney's father says he is looking forward to meeting his new grandchildren in person but is waiting for the greenlight from his son and Amal Clooney before he packs his bags.

They jokingly added that the first-time father "is sedated and should recover in a few days". "I don't know what that means". Not both, one of the two. The little boy looked like he had his nose. "Congratulations, George and Amal, or as I'm now calling you, Ocean's Four".
