Harvey-displaced Houston Astros lose 'home' game in Florida

Playing so far from home, with extensive flooding still covering much of Houston, it would be easy for the Astros to be distracted as they play a three-game series against the Texas Rangers at Tropicana Field, the home of the Tampa Bay Rays.

With Houston now dealing with devastating flooding from Hurricane Harvey, the Astros had proposed playing this week's series in Arlington and moving the September 25-27 series, which is scheduled to be played in Texas, to Houston.

"We went to the Rangers and said, 'Hey let's switch series".

In a follow-up interview with the Chronicle, Ryan said the Astros probably would know by Wednesday where they will play this weekend's series against the Mets. It is also understandable that the Rangers do not want to desert an important home series in exchange for a road series during the most critical month of the season.

If both the Rangers and Mets series were moved out of Houston they would end up on an 18-game trip, and away from their families that are dealing with the storm. They wanted all 6 of our games at their park. The Rangers GM also told 105.3 The Fan that switching the games wouldn't be fair to fans who had tickets to the September series. The Astros and Rangers have one final series scheduled next month in Arlington, so the Astros requested to simply trade the home sites of the two series.

Rice's football team, which began the season with a loss to Stanford in Australia, flew back to Dallas instead of all the way home to Houston. "We had to look at our players" best interest and we had to look at the integrity of the schedule".

Rodney Monk, who lives south of Austin, said he also came to the game during his work trip in St Petersburg to support his home state.

By market value, San Francisco-based Uber is triple the size of Expedia Inc ., which is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. That resembles descriptions of the often abrasive Kalanick. "For Dara, figuring out that relationship will be important".

Remaining at Tropicana Field would allow the Astros' relocated games to be played without additional travel. The Astros will be considered the home team and will bat in the bottom half of each inning.

"Efforts are underway in New Orleans and we will work with the fans, the Superdome, the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau and both schools throughout the week to ensure the most optimal game day experience for all", said Pete Derzis, ESPN senior vice president of college sports programming and events.

Multiple reports surfaced early Monday that Major League Baseball was considering a neutral site for the series.
