Suns Head Coach Earl Watson Fired After 0-3 Start

Tuesday, 24 Oct, 2017

Teams have already started calling the Suns about a possible trade for Bledsoe, who McDonough admitted had requested to be traded before the season started.

The Suns have asked about young Knicks such as Frank Ntilikina and Willy Hernangomez in trade talks about guard Eric Bledsoe, sources confirm.

Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe has become a trade target after general manager Ryan McDonough told reporters Monday that Bledsoe has likely played his final game for the franchise.

According to a report from ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Phoenix Suns have fired head coach Earl Watson just three games into the season.

The team announced Sunday night that associate head coach Jay Triano was taking over for Watson as interim head coach. The organization, sources said, argues that the team hasn't improved since Bledsoe took over the bulk of the playmaking duties. "He won't be with us going forward".

Many people assumed Bledsoe was saying he didn't want to be in Phoenix as a member of the Suns, who dropped to 0-3 with a loss to the Clippers on Saturday night. "I didn't believe that to be true", McDonough said.

Watson was hired as the interim coach after the Suns after they fired Jeff Hornacek in 2016. The Suns went 33-85 on his watch.

The Clippers traded Bledsoe to Phoenix in 2013. "I think there's a chance he has". Bledsoe, 27, is under contract for the next two seasons, making a combined $29.5 million.

Bledsoe is averaging 15.7 points and three assists in the first three games this year.
